Namibia’s
Mini Okavango

Livingstone’s Camp is set beside the seasonal floodplains of the Linyanti Wetlands in Namibia’s Zambezi Region. We call this landscape Namibia’s Mini Okavango because of its water-shaped character: channels, reedbeds, open floodplains, grasslands and woodland combine to create a small-scale wetland safari environment that feels very different from Namibia’s better-known desert regions.

The comparison is a positioning idea rather than a claim that the Linyanti Wetlands are part of the Okavango Delta. Livingstone’s has its own identity, shaped by the Linyanti system, the nearby Nkasa Rupara National Park and the surrounding community conservancies. Together these areas form a broad, largely unfenced wildlife landscape where animals can move across large areas.

Wildlife shaped by water

Elephants, buffalo, antelope and predators may be present in the wider area, while the wetlands attract both resident and seasonal birdlife. Water levels, weather and natural animal movements shape every visit, so no two stays are exactly the same and sightings can never be guaranteed.

Guests must follow camp and guide instructions, keep a respectful distance from wildlife and avoid walking around the camp after dark unless advised that it is safe to do so.
