Explore Namibia’s
Mini Okavango

Livingstone’s Camp is a base for exploring the Wuparo Conservancy and the wider Nkasa Rupara wetland landscape. The experience changes with the seasons: water levels rise and fall, routes change, birds move through the area and wildlife follows its own patterns. Guided activities are therefore part of discovering a living wetland system rather than following a fixed safari formula. Advance booking is recommended.

01

Guided game drives

Explore the Nkasa National Park with a knowledgeable guide in an open game-viewing vehicle. Depending on water and road conditions, drives may move through floodplain, grassland and woodland habitats in search of wildlife and signs of animal movement. Routes are selected according to conditions on the day, and sightings cannot be guaranteed.

02

Walking safaris

A guided walk offers a slower, more detailed way to experience the wetland landscape. The focus is on tracks, plants, birds, smaller wildlife and the natural systems that are easy to miss from a vehicle. Routes and walking conditions are assessed by the guide on the day.

Current listed duration: Approximately 3 hours

03

Seasonal mokoro safaris

When seasonal water levels allow, a guided mokoro excursion is one of the experiences that best brings the ‘Mini Okavango’ positioning to life. Move quietly through navigable wetland channels, with opportunities to see waterbirds and other wildlife associated with the floodplain. Mokoro excursions are entirely dependent on water conditions and cannot operate year-round.

Current listed duration: Approximately 2 hours

Birding

For birders, the mix of wetlands, open floodplain and surrounding woodland is one of Livingstone’s strongest attractions. Waterbirds, raptors and woodland species can all occur in the wider area, with sightings changing according to season, water levels and local movement. Birding can be enjoyed from camp or incorporated into a guided activity.
